We just launched CFCArts.com! Check out the interview we had with Central Florida Community Arts about the goal & vision of this MASSIVE website project!

What were Launchbay Creative’s goals & vision for this project?

Hey there! Jeremiah & Steve from Launchbay Creative here, when asked to design the NEW CFCArts.com we had 1 goal in mind: To serve both CFC & their website users in the best & most efficient way possible by creating a website that has a good balance of information & inspiration. Our vision was to take their old website’s information but really dial up the inspiration so when you visit the site you feel like you’re at a CFCArts show whether that’s performing in it or being a part of the audience. CFCArts has such energy and passion in what they do, we wanted that to come across in the design of their website. We are so happy with how it turned out & we hope everyone who visits the site will be too!

What challenges did you face during this project?

I think our main challenge was that CFCArts has so many different programs and events, we really had to understand the fabric of CFCArts to begin to figure out how to organize a layout the website. They aren’t like any website we’ve had to design in that fact that in most sites you have to put stuff in a box and you put that box in a room and it stays there forever. CFC was more like building a train station with shows & events showing up at the right time and leaving so people could catch the next one in time.

What was your approach to the overall design?

One of the things we wanted to do with the design was to make it look modern but not too trendy that it would be outdated in a year.
I think the new Logo helped steer us in a great direction. It had bright energetic colors that were specific to certain areas of CFCArts, which added an extra layer of visual consistency that came out really great.

Why is this site better than the old one?

The main thing is we got to build this site on a brand new WordPress Theme (Divi) which we absolutely love. This will be way more user-friendly for the CFCArts team to add shows, posts, and pages which will allow them and us to make updates SO much faster.

What is your favorite thing about the new site?

I think overall it’s just the vibe, there is so much life and energy that is coming through that makes it fun and engaging.

Are there any perks about the site you want to share?

So one thing we really wanted to incorporate is an events calendar, this will allow old events to automatically disappear when the show is over. Until now, CFC has had to manually take shows off when they’re older and we think this will be a huge time saver for them.

Is there anything else you want to share?

We just want to share a big thanks to CFCArts for trusting us with this huge project, they could have easily gone to a big design firm but they chose us for our ongoing working relationship with them. That means a lot to us! Also just want to share a huge shoutout to Brian & Olivia who were our point of contacts for this project, they were absolute rock stars & did a ton of behind-the-scenes work gathering content for the site and being there to answer questions when we had them. If you see them out in the wild give them a big thanks! They deserve it!
